I bought a Mighty Mouse when I bought a iMacG5 ALS on last October.
It's my favorite mouse because the operability of the Scroll Ball and the right button are pretty good for me. (and also I love design itself)
But, the "up-scroll" died suddenly on last week end. I had this kind of problem several times. In that time, I cleaned the Scroll Ball according to the instruction Apple computer published.
In this time, I cleaned the Scroll Ball several times, but nothing improved.
I searched on the web for this kind of problem and I found out that there are many users who share same problem. (include Apple Store's reviews)
I thought it was only the way that I buy new one. That's one point, but that being a case, I decided to repair it myself. I have nothing to lose. Finally ... The repair was not so difficult for me in terms of results. Also the Scroll Ball is working very fine again !
